ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੁਰਪੁਰਬ

Guru Gobind Singh Ji (b. 1666), the tenth and last human Guru, founded the Khalsa in 1699 and conferred eternal Guruship on the Guru Granth Sahib. His birth anniversary is observed with prayer, kirtan, and remembrance of his teachings of courage, justice, and devotion. (The Nanakshahi calendar fixes this date; many communities still observe by the lunar Bikrami reckoning, hence it may fall in December or January.)
